Useful information from the Club Secretary
Club Tour 2025
The itinerary has been put together for the club tour next year from the 16th May to the 19th May at a cost of £375 per person (singles £495):
* Bacon butty and coffee/tea at Moffat House Hotel at Moffat;
* Visit to the Riverside Museum in Glasgow. The museum is Glasgow's award-winning transport and technology museum. With over 3,000 objects on display there's everything from skateboards to locomotives, paintings to prams, and cars to a stormtrooper. The exhibits span several eras and one of the highlights of the museum is the recreated street scene, which provides a glimpse into Glasgow's past.;
* Three night stay at the Buchanan Arms Hotel in Drymen near Loch Lomond, which includes dinner, bed & breakfast;
* Bowls matches are yet to be arranged.
* On the return journey we will visit Hopestoun House, a country house near South Queensferry on the shores of the Firth of Forth. There will be a guided tour followed by afternoon tea.
We are restricted to a party of 44 as we only have access to 20 double rooms and 4 single rooms. A list will be posted in the Bower shortly. Just a reminder that a £50 deposit is required from everyone who put their names down and should be paid to the Tour Treasurer, Pat Backhouse, at the November Coffee Morning on the 2nd of November.
Coffee Mornings – Joker & Monthly Draw
Some of those who participate may not be aware that the annual subscriptions of £12 for the Joker and also £12 for the Monthly Draw are now due. The Joker subscription should be paid to John Proctor and the Monthly Draw subscription to John Sibley, preferably at the next Coffee Morning on Saturday the 5th of October. In the Monthly Draw there are 18 numbers still available for anyone who would like to join in.
